Barb grew up in Killarney, is married, has two children and five grandchildren. She and her husband live in Killarney and their interests include spending time with their children and grandchildren, pontooning on the lake in the summer and the occasional golf game. Barb and her husband enjoy travelling and one of their favorite "tours" took them part way up the west coast of California and through Oregon in the autumn. They have enjoyed renovating several homes over the years including their present home on "The Bay". Barb has been involved in the Manitoba Paraoptometric Association serving in various positions since starting at the Optometric Centre in 1990.
Paige was born in Killarney and grew up on her family farm south of town. Paige started working at the Optometric Centre in March 2010. She became a Certified Canadian Optometric Assistant in 2012, and is fascinated with the field of Optometry. You may see Paige at the Pre-school Wellness days conducting vision screenings in Killarney and Boissevain. She also enjoys doing Vision Therapy in the office, and has always been very enthusiastic about expanding and learning new things within the office. She and her partner Chad welcomed a baby boy, Blake, in April of 2017. She loves spending time with Chad and Blake and when time permits.. she also enjoys cooking, baking, bowling, golfing, biking, and walking her dog Maggie!
Jaylee joined the Optometric Centre team in July of 2013. She obtained her Canadian Cer Optometric Assistant certification in the summer of 2016. She and her husband have two children, Kaedyn and Kase. They enjoy raising their children in the same town that they grew up in. Jaylee's hobbies include crafting and designing new ideas for her Block Talk business, chasing her kids, and spending time with family and friends.
Shaylyn joined the Optometric Centre in June of 2014. She obtained her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant designation in the summer of 2016. She loves spending time with family and friends. In her spare time she enjoys playing baseball and camping in the summer, then hockey and curling in the winter. Shaylyn enjoys helping out on the farm with her husband Kevin, and caring for all the animals.
Jen started working at the Optometric Centre in October 2017. She moved to the area from Winnipeg with her partner, Scott. Jen obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Winnipeg. She is currently training as an Optometric Assistant and is looking forward to becoming a Certified Optometric Assistant in the future. In her spare time, she loves spending time with family and friends. Jen's hobbies include training for equestrian show jumping competitions with her horse, Keno.
